Ro is a life long activist dedicated to helping inspire empowerment. Passionate about social justice and diversity, Oakland was a natural fit, making California her 7th home state before she was 20. She immediately began her entrepreneurial journey. First, founding a Silicon Valley community center for event production which propelled her into community and volunteer development as well as event marketing and management. She has since gone on to found and run three successful businesses supporting ADHD accessibility in business, vegan products and lifestyle changes, as well as brand identity and social media growth for women owned businesses.
Before devoting her work full-time to supporting change and cultural prosperity in the Tech Industry, she studied Psychology and obtained her MS in Marketing while working in the non-profit sector. There she provided data management and outreach to organizations such as Operation Dignity whose services include homeless outreach as well as Veteran family housing and services.
She adores spending free time backpacking through the Eastern Sierras, learning to code in Swift, diving into her ever lengthening reading list, and attempting to turn her black thumb green. She volunteers her marketing skills to support incredible initiatives such as Techtonica and serves as a Hackbright Ambassador.
Ro writes about learning to code, social media marketing, business development and more on her blog. She tweets about diversity, inclusion, accessibility and feminism (with veganism thrown in on occasion) @aroseartist.
