Solution: Create Executive Mentoring Opportunities Between Women and Young Girls
As a young woman in the business world, I think the biggest challenge is being underestimated and undervalued/utilized. I have encountered many colleagues, peers, professors who did not expect what I was able to present to the table — and that’s unacceptable. Women are definitely a force — a creative and driven force that continues to innovate and push through adversity they may face.
To help change this stigma, I think it would be best to have more close and personal relationships between young women, young girls, and executive women. I personally did not have a so-called role model to look up to in the business world, and in turn that was another thing I didn’t see as feasible for myself. I believe that through communication and mentoring, we can give young women and young girls the confidence to acknowledge what’s against them in this male-dominated business world and push through — having the confidence to continue to be as successful as they aim to be.
I am mentoring young girls and women, and I think that a mentorship of women in business and young woman/girls will also help in this matter. Building each and every women/girl up will make it easier for them to pursue their dreams without a thought of the challenges they may face because they will surpass them all.
